It is important to make peace with past traumatic experiences, in order to free us in our present reality. If we are held hostage to our past, then we are not free. Our present reality can be completely overshadowed and distorted both emotionally and within our decision-making – which can be detrimental to our own happiness. This then can have an impact on us with anxiety for example; worrying about things that haven’t happened yet (which may never happen at all) which is another overwhelming state to be in.
We all have our own version of a cup and we all have our own Capacity for our cups. Over the years certain things stick and stay, The water Gets murky and at times Our cups get too heavy and full. Just one more thing can create a huge storm from within us. It can seem like it’s come out of nowhere to others and make us feel like we are completely losing control.
Ideally, we want to be fully engaged in the now with an equal measure of emotion and logical thinking. This balance enables mental energy and clarity. This state of mind and being can seem like such a far away achievement for so many but it really can be so much closer than you ever thought possible. When you achieve it, it will seem like it has always been this way, until you really look back and see that it wasn’t!
